Engineering Manager

A leading unified platform is transforming how paving contractors estimate accurately, manage crews efficiently, and track profitability in real-time. By eliminating the costly mistakes and wasted time caused by juggling multiple disconnected systems, this platform serves as a single source of truth to run an entire operation.

Since launching in late 2022, the product has gained traction across the US and Canada, with strong product-market fit. The team is led by experienced operators (CEO: ex-Bain, CTO: ex-Google), and the company recently closed its Series A funding to fuel further growth.

The opportunity:

Paving is a $150B+ industry still reliant on spreadsheets and whiteboards. The product is validated, and customers are highly engaged. Now the company is seeking someone to help scale and amplify this success.

Role:

This is the first Engineering Manager hire. In this pivotal role, you’ll build and lead the software engineering team to deliver critical solutions that cement the product’s role in the paving industry ecosystem. You’ll work closely with company leadership in a high-impact environment.

Location:

San Francisco-based, with an expectation of 3+ in-office days per week (East Cut neighborhood).

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of experience as a software engineer in a fast-paced environment
• 1–3+ years of direct engineering leadership or management experience
• Strong grasp of modern software development lifecycle and team orchestration
• Proven success hiring and developing technical talent
• Familiarity with Node.js, React, AWS, PostgreSQL is a plus

Compensation:

$170,000–$210,000 salary range
